Holiday Wishlist 2010
Please link me to your wishlist - I've been absent online and I fear I've missed a lot of peoples!
The Wishlist Meme/Rules:
Make a post (public, friends locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for __ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
* If you wish for real life things (not stories or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
* Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.
*Surf around your friends list (or friends’ friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list.
And now here's the important part:
*If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use—or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free—do it.
* You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out; it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf—to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not—it's your call.
* There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish and it might come true. Give and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
My Wishlist 2010
1. If you are able to, fulfil a wish for someone else. It might be on livejournal, or in the real world, but nothing lifts someone else's spirits as knowing someone else cares enough to make them feel special.
2. Books. I am a book collector (mostly picturebooks and Star Wars books - of which I have a LOT - but I am also an avid crime genre reader. I have all of Matthew Reilly and Kathy Reich's novels, but anything else is fair game for me).
3. Fanfic. For ideas you can view my fandom interest list. I'm not a huge slash fan, I don't really conform to OTPs, but I do have favourite characters. That said, I am happy for anything new and interesting to read! I wouldn't want to limit your creativity. ♥
4. Happy thoughts and well wishes. Without trying to sound pitiful, I've had a stressful time recently and I'll take whatever happiness I can, when I can.
5. Artwork for any of my fanfiction.
6. Links to interesting websites. Much like books, I collect links (mostly for educational websites for kids), so if you have something that fits that description (on any topic) please let me know.
7. Paid LJ time or userpics.
8. Fanfiction recommendations. I love having more things to read.
9. Any Star Wars stuff. (I'm a bit of a nut when it comes to this sort of thing, although not so much online which is odd… but I do LOVE Star Wars. 50+ expanded universe books and guides attest to that.)
10. I wish for all who read this list to have a safe and happy holiday season and a wonderful New Year filled with fun, adventure and happiness.
