Kitchen chemistry. Stargate SG-1, G. Sam and Jonas discuss Jell-O. All recognisable characters from SG-1 are the property of their original creators. I'm just borrowing. Written for eponymous_rose for fandom_stocking 2009 at LJ.

Re-posting from LJ:

1. Comment to this post with "I surrender!" and I'll assign you the basis of some tv show idea. (Science fiction show, medical drama, criminal procedure, etc...)
2. Create a cast of characters, including the actors who'd play them
3. Add in any actor photos, character bios and show synopsis that you want.
4. Post to your own journal.

rodlox gave me the following prompt: angels, minor gods, and the possibility of another revolution. (I don't really have minor gods, but hopefully rodlox won't really mind!)

This was really tricky, trying to include Gods and Angels without turning it into a religious show. Also, I stuck to Greek gods for season 1 and would try and branch out to other mythology later on. I suspect I will come back and tweak this regularly because I'm not 100% happy with it.

After the Dawn [True Blood, Eric/Sookie, PG-13, 1600 words, spoilers for episode 2x09, I don't own any of the characters in True Blood or the Southern Vampire Mysteries, much to my dismay.]

He stared at her, but it was like she wasn't even there. )

Just joking.

(Here I am, updating my blog when I should be doing a number of other things, not least of which includes uni homework for tomorrow, uni homework for my science unit of work on Friday, writing up my teaching practicum reflection, and writing up my Key Selection Criteria for applying for jobs next year…)

Instead I wanted to mention something fun that happened to me yesterday.

I went to my first Publisher’s Roadshow last night (hooray for working in a bookstore) and I had lots of fun. Free food, free alcohol (although I stuck to orange juice because I was teaching this morning), loads of interesting books that are being released before Christmas… and free books! I love books, and I think I love free books even more. Everyone who attended last night walked away with around about $100 (RRP) worth of books.

My showbag included:

* Charlaine Harris’ Dead and Gone (which was even more brilliant because it’s not only the book I’m up to in the Southern Vampire Mysteries series, but it’s also the only one I don’t own!)
* Matt Hilton’s Dead Men’s Dust (apparently he’s the next Matthew Reilly, which means I should thoroughly enjoy his book)
* Patricia Cornwell’s Scarpetta (haven’t read her in a while, but I do enjoy her books)
* Alex Rutherford’s Empire of the Moghul: Raiders from the North (which I know nothing about but it looks interesting)

All I can say is… bring on the next Roadshow!

I have many happy hours of reading ahead of me. (You know, when uni work stops sucking my brain dry!)
